What is wrong with my truck!? It sucks to drive. Stalls out

    From the beginning.

My battery has been getting weaker, and it finally took a dump on me. I woke up yesterday and it was dead. So I jumped it off drove it to the shop and replaced it with a new one.

It cranks fine now and the batter volts read 14 volts all the time, but now every single time I slow down to turn, or slow down to stop the truck dies on me! I have to power brake it everywhere I drive. Its beginning to get annoying. I was hoping it would clear up, but in the past day and a half it has dies probably 30 times on me. EVERY time I stop or turn, not just occasionally. Its not safe either, because i have the throw it in neutral with out power steering and crank it, then put it in drive.

Could it be the TPS? It runs fine when I give it gas, but not when I coast.

Please help guys. I need to get this fixed asap.

Maybe it needs to relearn the Idle fuel trims. Your cam and converter aren't very big do I'm hesitant to say it's that, but my truck has similar problems when it needs to relearn the fuel trims.

how long does that take? That never has happened when I swapped PCMs. Does the battery going dead kind of reset the computer?

You need to do the idle relearn. I think Allen has the procedure posted on his website on how to do it.

Didn't see it there. Maybe you can PM GasGuzzler and he can post the Idle Relearn Procedure on here.

If your throttle body has alot of carbon built in it and around the the throttle blade this can cause a low, or stalling idle also. Turn your key on, engine off, and get someone to hold down the gas pedal and then clean the throttle body out with a wire brush and carb cleaner. Itll have a difficult start for a minute, then run fine.
