    4L60E parts

After having to pull the transmission 8 times in less than a year, its time for a new builder or do it myself. I am looking for an updated list of parts that I can buy, so that I can have someone who can rebuild a trans do it, with the parts I want. I still need to pull it out this weekend and have someone break it down and see exactly what the last builder installed. I have a feeling I will be requesting my money back... I dont have enough power to warrant changing to a 4L80E, specs are in my sig.. What parts would you buy if you would daily drive, and daily beat on with my mods listed below?

    Thanks
5.3, small cam, 918 springs, 7.4 rods, walboro pump, Full built 4l60, 2800-3000 stall, TB spacer, long tubes, cat delete, single 3" exhaust with Aero bullit muffler. Flaco tuned.

For starters take a look at what some of the more popular transmission companies claim to install in their units. This should give you a good place to start building your transmission. Keep in mind that parts are just what they are. The skills to build these things do not come in a parts order.

I see you mods in your sig. What are the rwhp/tg #'s with your combo? Weight of vehicle? Also how are using this vehicle?

8 times in a year definitely sounds like either a builder or vehicle issue. I wish you the best of luck getting your vehicle reliable again. Vince B

I still need to find out when it gets broke down, what parts are in it. I did ask for the blue clutches, corvette servos and I already had a shift kit. I did find some one who will do the job for me that has been doing it over 20 years. He is a reliable person that I am aware of.

As far as numbers, I havent been able to dyno yet because of the trans issues. I did mods at the same time I had this last person work on my current trans that cant go more than 200 miles. Weight is 4330 with me in it and about a 1/4 tank of gas. I will drive the truck to work sometimes, otherwise it will be a weekend and occasional track use.

I also should have contacted you from the beginning, cause I know I would not have been dealing with this now.

I still dont understand why you guys at flt dont sell parts seperate.. You guys probably would be making more income if you guys did. It's not like you guys would be putting your name on the part you sold as long as you put a claim on it. For best results have us install it. lmfao.

They sell them as a complete kit ready to go, shipped safely in an aluminum case.

The issue is that we are a small shop. With that being said it takes time away from our main source of income which is building transmissions. Also with selling parts come the tech calls. We did at one point sell parts the issue was the calls that went with them. Most times guys would call that did not even buy from us or bought else where for less money. We would spend many hours every week helping guys out and at the end of the day it cost the company money. Sorry to say this but most guys do not belong building a transmission and in some cases even owning tools! For us it did not work. Vince B

I'd definitely fall in that category. I know my limitations. You won't see me setting up diff gears either. Most other things I'll give a shot, but pretty much limited to bolt-ons as I can't weld.

I'm not as good as 99% of the people here, but I'm still a decent bit better than the Average Joe.

theres a place down in your neck of the woods, century or something like that, and they've built some really good 60e transmissions.
