    152000Mi X 3.42 = 519840.... been around the loop a couple times i guess...

....hopefully this number will begin to rise a lot faster when i switch to 4.10's in the coming month

it would be interesting to see an engine revolution count on mine with the loose converter and 230k on the odometer, 4.10s for a while, 3.42s now, idling time, overdrive engaged, converter locked up, tires spinning... I can only imagine how many times a crankshaft has turned over in this truck. My old 92 had over 300k on it so it was undoubtedly higher. I would think a stick shift engine would have less revs on it.

I did mine wrong the 1st time somehow. It's really 746,377 but that's not revolutions that's pinion bearing miles. To get rev over the lifetime I would have to multiply that by number for pinion rotations per mile (27" diameter tire X Pi / 12 = 747.3XXX) so...

Approx number of pinion bearing rotations = 558,290,619

So why are the pinion bearing miles different from total engine mileage? Interesting topic

engine is always turning as long as its running....in gear or in nuetral.....the pinion only turns when the vehicle is in gear turning to output shaft of the transmission.....Not to mention the engine output generally turns a hell of a lot faster than the tranny output due to gearing unless in direct and overdrive.....hope this clears it up?

    Well about 220,000 miles x 3.73 gears = 820,600 miles.

    Where did you get that number from??? Unless my calculator lies 27 x 3.14 = 85.59 and 85.59 / 12 = 7.065. Am I missing a step or something?
