    Questions about my 6.0 swap

I just did a swap to a 6.0 in my 99 5.3 silverado. everything went smooth. Only question i have is the 6.0 dosnt have an EGR valve. what year did the 6.0 not come with an EGR? I am throwing a Check engine light now because the comp isnt finding the EGR since it isnt there. How do i fix this?

you need to turn it off in your tune when you update the tune for the larger engine. You may be able to put a resistor inline to fool the PCM into thinking the EGR is there but I've never seen anyone do it.

    You don't...

...if you think that your PCM is one of those with dynamic-cubic inch upgrading capabilities! Heck, you would notice a night and day difference on your 5.3 had you got your PCM tuned by a reputable tuner. It would be the second best upgrade you ever did to your truck, second only to the actual 6.0 swap

your fuel trims are going to be terrible without an update. Everytime the PCM gets disconnected it will have to relearn, it will start out running very lean and then learn to add fuel. Get the tune updated for safety.

    NelsonPerformance...dot coooooooom!

I have one of his tunes. Swapped a 5.3 and T56 into 91 Silverado AND did the 95 dash at same time, and it fired up first time and runs great. Passed emissions with flying colors, a blast to drive, no codes. What else can I say?

where are you located? A live tune by a professional tuner is your #1 option. If you're in a location where you cannot get the live tune then the NP mail order tuner is a great 2nd option. They can do a live tune for you if you don't mind driving down to SanAntonio.
