    What it is... uses two oil filters. Syn media full flow and a bypass. Combined the motor will basically have no wear as all the crap that causes wear is trapped. Worth the cash if you plan to drive the vehicle until it falls apart.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    The AMSOIL customer membership comes in 2 flavors - $10 for six months and $20 for a year.

    Here's a couple list prices and the membership price:

    For my truck and Subaru, figured if i use 6 filters and 5 to 6+ gallons of oil a year, the $20 more than paid for itself. Plus i figured almost $75 saving for the by-pass kit once the extra fittings, hose, etc. is purchased.
    Overall about a 20% to 25% discount.

    BTW, i do plan to drive mine until it drops. Planning to pay off the 48 month note early and then no payments for a few years

    Short term notes are where it's at if you can swing them, they do put you in a pinch at times but hell... SO much less interest you pay over the term!



    Those are pretty good deals for sure, I need to look into that harder for sure. Where did you sign up for it?

    No doubt, the shorter the term the better. We thought about doing a 36 month on the Silverado, but the monthly payments were just not in our comfort level.

    You can alway mount the filters sideways, can't you? You just have to be more careful when spinning the filter off so that you don't make a mess.

    I think it could be angled to tuck in under the chassis somewhere. Here's what AMSOIL says about it:

    My one-car garage is occupied w/ another project and it was wet all evening from Dennis' aftermath, so maybe next couple of days will see if there's a good location underneath. With my long bed there may be some good dead space to use.

    Do you think there's a limit on the total hose length so that oil pressure isn't a problem?

    The only way the hose could hurt the pressure is if it broke. You can go down to a farm tractor supply house and have them make you hoses using hydraulic line if you're worried about busting a hose. Those hydraulic lines hold pressure better than steel lines and hydraulic pumps put out over 300 psi under load. I suggested under the cab or frame only because of the asthetics. Superchargers and turbos are cool under the hood but nasty old oil filters belong out of sight IMO.

    Tomorrow i'm going to scope out possible locations back underneath the bed. I took some rough measurements in the engine compartment and there's no freakin' way the unit would fit in the extra battery area on my NBS, unless it was positioned at a steep angle. Any other option would look ugly as ass. And yes, the more i think about, a couple of oil filters hanging out under the hood doesn't do a whole lot aesthetically.
