    the g80 is made by eaton. Detroit is an eaton company....eaton and tru trac are made by the same people.

    Basically, and Eaton or Auburn uses clutches and bands to make the posi happen, kinda like how a transmission uses clutches and bands to shift gears. The only thing about that is we all know how well bands or clutches can wear out or not grab. The TrueTrac uses straight-cut gears to make the posi happen. No slipping of any sort, like bands can. I am sure the Eaton is a great unit, but I would go with the Truetrac only because of how it is built, the price, and how reliable it is.

    The difference is the Eaton uses real clutches that can be replaced and the bias can be adjusted. The Auburn has cones that are not rebuildable and bias is not adjustable.

    I got my detroit true trac from ron's machine on ebay. Cheapest ive seen. was like $450 shipped with shims and bearing kit.
    2003 RCSS Chevy 5.3L Fully Bolted, Cammed, Yanked, and 342s. Borla Exhaust w/ Electric Cutouts.
