    Torque converter tune

Hey guys after not having my truck for about three months now i finally got my built transmission in and my TB stall(i was really short on cash that why got this) i was told the TB Converter stalls around 2600-2900rpm's on different types of engine.

Is there anything in the tune i have to mess with to make it drivable? I have hp tuners so just let me know. I just want to be able to drive it around untill i can send a tune out to nelson.

Im currently install in my transmission right now in my apartment complex all my nieghbors think im nuts...lol wish me luck.

No tuning needed, just install it and drive it.
The TB converter typically stalls closer to 23-2500.

Be sure you flush your cooler reeeeeeeeeally good before you hook it up to the transmission. Many transmission suppliers will send a can of flush to clean the lines out.

This isnt a gm parts Trailblazer I6 Converter its a dacco torque converter which used a TB TC as the rebuild stall. Its a GM55 from dacco if anyone is familar with them, But thanks for the info.

Yea the reason why my tranny took a crap was because my radiator had a internal leak and the coolant leaked into my tranny lines. So now i have an external cooler, but ill flush it out with something.

Just got the tranny in by my self with one jack..... never going to do that again in my life, lol Im going to be connecting al the connectors and installing my intake back.

Anyone know the proper way of filling a dry transmission? Any help would be great. I filled my TC with 2 quarts of tranny fliud also.

yea i have a rebuilt i6 converter from circle d drove around about a month without it tuned u should be fine all it will do is go into overdrive sooner and keep unlucking and locking only if u get down to the speed it locks up.dont worry it be fine.also shifts will be real smooth like u can hardly tell it shifts unless u have a shiftkit goodluck o as far as filling it just put it together and fill it like normal from the dipstick

    Yea,

Ive been drivingit around it shift good just cruising around, but when i half/pedal it it will shift 1-2 hard(yea i have a transgo kit) then when i get up to the 2-3 it will rev up real high just second because i let up immediatly, this is a brand new tranny and i dont wanna screw it up.

Any suggestions to this problem im very iffy about going WOT yet. Im very clueless what a stall should do or feel like just an FYI.

sorry to bump an old thread but i figure its better than starting a new one

i am wanting to put a stall in my truck 01 rcsb 5.3 with a 4l60e. looking at a yank 2600 or a circle d reman tb convertor

my truck has a tune in it from zippy, i know the shift points and line pressures are changed for the tranny. My question is am i going to have to have it retuned once the converter is put in? and if so would it be safe to drive 5 hours to have it retuned by a reputable shop?

    thanks

no... your tune will be fine... trans may feel a little softer with the stall... I would sugest putting servos in while u have the trans out...
