There is a writeup on the front page detailing how to do a conversion.

Yep...there sure is. I'm always getting on the forum on my phone at work so I forgot all about that writeup on the front page...Would it be easier to do the swap or just build the 4l60e?

I want to do a swap to the 4l80e but I don't know if I have the mechanical knowledge to do it...How much is a good 4l80e?

I guess a used one would work...I read the right up...the only thing I would be worried about is cutting the cross member and re-welding it to extend it. I can weld fine but I guess I've never had to fabricate anything for my truck...

The cross member? Yeah...that's a good idea. I'll do that...How do you lengthen the transmission lines and what do suggest you do for the driveshaft?

The tranny cooler lines are close, but you can bend them to fit--just don't kink them--or you'll be going back to the truck that you took the crossmember from to get the cooler lines. The driveshaft will have to be custom too.

3 main things for the conversion: crossmember, driveshaft, wiring harness.
