Allan,
Let me know what I can do for you in regards to pistons, rings and rods.
Bob F
I'm looking for some Diamond pistons and Total Teal rings. I'll also have the crank polished and new bearings. I'm not sure if polishing the crank requires different crank and rod bearings. What are you thoughts?
I'm not sure on the bore size, the stock bore is 4.000 so I'm not sure if just a nice hone job will be in order or a bore required. I don't think I can get .010 or .005 sized pistons If I get just a hone job, I'll slap the stock bore forged Diamonds back in with the total seal rings. As long as the tolerance is ok. If not, Diamond also has a set that is .030 over, but the engine is pretty new and doesn't need to go that far.
I called Diamond, and they said he might be able to cut some more from the pistons they currently stock to give me a lower compression instead of milling a new set. The stock bore of 4.000 will give me about a 8.7cr with a 76cc chamber. The 4.030 bore will give me about a 8.7cr as well. That is at a -13.7 and -15.0cc dished piston.
Point me in the direction if this is out of line. I don't want to go crazy with this. I already had a stroker kit picked out and new heads, lol, it can get out of hand quick!!![]()
I only want to cure this blowby and get some lower compression so I'm just replacing the pistons with forged ones, Total Seal rings and new bearings.
I don't want to get too far into this build with the attitude of "while i'm in there, i might as well..." hahaha, it's so hard not to.
Please comment, I'm open for options!
