So I stop to pick up dinner last night. Walk in waiting at the counter. Here comes some dude that looks familiar but I cant place him ( you know one of those moments where you ask yourself if you need to act like you know just who he is to not be rude ) He speaks up first saying hey you look familiar. I say the same we "shoot the breeze" for a minute. He asked if I really had a LS1 motor in my truck. (LS1truck sticker is on the back) To which I reply naw just a LS style. 5.3 with a good bit done. So he starts like o well its not a LS1 so whatever. Im like dude there isnt just a MASSIVE difference once you start working on them. And im like Ill have it fast when I finaly get a turbo built for it. So then he starts telling me that Turbos are stupid. They dont belong on v8s. Its retarded. I TRY to explain that the LS motors react to turbos quite well and time after time its made a 10 sec combo in highly modified motors. While S/Cs on the other hand usually can get you high 12s easily but you got to push them harder to get more. So then he starts with the THATS SLOW either way. And how he had a old s-10 that was bone stock with a 4.3 v6 that ran 13s all day. At this point... I am runnin over in my head to I call BS on this guy right here in front of everyone or just walk off. And Im like you know Its easy to say 12 but its hard to do. And for a stock truck with no crap done run a 13... maybe a syclone but there isnt one in my area. So this dude is FULL OF IT. SO I walk off. Just pushed my buttons.
