To add to the relocation bracket;
I bought the Area 51 relocation bracket and just didn't like how the pulley was positioned. We drilled and tapped a new hole in about the same location as the picture above, worked out great!
I like the billet bracket, however, I don't like the location they put the pulley at.

Newbie here, i got an 03 gmc z71 with a 5.3L. I was going to do the ls1 intake swap, then someone told me about the LS2 Trailblazer SS intake, what do you think about that setup, will there be the same installation process as the ls1, Thanks
I've looked into doing this awhile back and you can keep all your factory accessories with the ls2 trailblazer intake manifold. You will have to put a ls2 throttle body on though and you can buy a conversion harness from lingenfelter performance to hook the new throttle body up for around $50. Not sure if this setup is better than the ls6 as far as HP numbers go but it seems like it'd be a less complicated install without messing with the brackets.

How much torque would be lost when installing an LS6 intake? Would any be lost if using an LS1 intake?

No more pulling pullies off and pressing back on. No more potential to destroy two pumps at once. gotta use the Fbody tensioner. Hope to finish the install soon if I can find me a junk fbody pump to finish the mockup.

also to add... someone pointed out to me in a pm that you can spot weld a nut on the pulley and thread a bolt in it. this way it is used as a puller to pull it out some to where it lines up with the other accessories. when finished, just grind the spot welds off and remove the nut.

thats a good idea but you still end up with a pump without a usuable pulley unless someone swaps the one off of theirs. We're going to look into a kit for the idler pulley too, once I find a pump to finish the mockup, even if it's just supplying the shim and a longer bolt.![]()

So does anyone have a link to a dyno comparison of the LS6 intake VS. the truck intake? I've read several articles on the swap, some claim that no torque is lost with the LS6 while others claim that they lost a lot of low end power. I've passed up a few good deals on intakes because I don't want to lose anything down low since it would be on a dd and won't see 6k very often, but hey if no torque is lost then I'm all for it. How many on this site have done the swap? and what are your opinions of it?
