The cam swap is much easier for someone inexperienced. The LS engines are probably the easiest cam in block, cam swap engines there are.

Rear axle works requires a lot of knowledge and special tools....even if the tools are home made (GREG).
You can come to Malvern AR and help me with my cam install if you want lol
