i have and lt1 out of a 90 or 92 firebird looking for any advise anyone can give me on what i'm going to run into swaping it into a 98 chevy 1500, it currently has a 5.0 vortec, know i'm going to need to get new heads for it, and prolly a comp reprogram but any other problems/items i should be on the lookout for or need to get for it , also have a chance to pick up a ls1 out of a 97 vette with wireing harness and pcm, would i be better off going with that or would it be easier to go with the lt1
    thanks for any help

Go with the LS1 you have in the other post. Sell the tranny you have and get an LS1 tranny to replace it. That will save you many headaches.

Different bell housing, torque converter, pump stator and input shaft length and style. A few hundred dollars worth of parts to change it over to LS1 style and then there's labor. They make some spacers that you bolt over the flywheel to use other transmissions but I personally have not tried those. I modified my 4L60E to have the same parts as the LS1.
