Man, I wish I was seeing some better track times from these STS turbo kits. Although they do put down good numbers, I thought a good turbo setup would at least put a RCSB in the high 12s.
Now, I can't decide if I shouldn't go theroute instead. Alot cheaper.

2000 Chevy Silverado 4.8L RCSB: smoked UPD, Flowmaster exhaust, De-screened MAF, Nelson 93 hot tune. Upcoming installs: trans-go shift kit, Eaton posi, billet servo, ported and polished throttle body...Near future: 6.0/4L80E install with 150 wet shot
I hear you there Kinjo. I am running 9.77 1/8 miles without NOS or blowers and am totally stock except a little aggressive tune. Those turbo trucks should be faster in my opinion. After running a 2004 with a dealer installed whipple I am not impressed with them either. Sounds to me like going all motor is the way to go and maybe a little happy gas on the side when I want to push the limits.

Let's face it, the red hair... makes 'em wet.
Whoops! I just notice my typo. I ment to write 8.69 not 9.69. I was running 9.70's with just free mods and a 2500 stall.
All my times with the turbo were on street tires spinning off the line and shifting into second. Will have slicks on soon. Will get you some good times then.

That sounds so much better. Still, I have seen newer Silverados running 8.5s on a near stock motor with a 150 shot.

Slicks will grab alot better but if you want good solid traction you will have to throw an Eaton Posi on the rear of that baby.Originally posted by JCFREAK@Sep 28 2004, 07:40 PM

Eaton posi was one of the first things I did. Had to get rid of that Gov granade. After I do a little sweeking on it I hope to brake into the 12's. I really want it to get in the 10's at some time. We'll just have to see.

Welcome, yeah I'm having traction problems myself only at the track though. Smokin both tires off the line sucks for low ET's...Zed![]()
