My little girl is a tiger cub graduate. She punched her best buddy in the nose after he called her "mother" repeatedly. That was first grade.
If she knew that street fighting crap no kid in her Christian school would be safe.

Oh great something else our kids can get into....better yet get in trouble for. The guy claims it's martial arts...that's BS! That's fighting plain and simple. What happened to wholesome sports and why are parents letting their kids do this crap?

In my opinion any parent that would even consider this crap should have there kids taken away. There's a difference between karate that teaches children self discipline than these that are beating the s*** out of each other. My son won't be doing that, 1 because I care to much for him.

Here's one way to look at it.

Let's say someone is into snake handling. His "hobby" involves the risk of being bitten by a poisonous snake and possibly incurring serious injury or even death. That's fine for an adult. His kid might see it and say "Daddy - that looks fun! Can I do it?". I don't think many people would argue that it would be a poor parent that would say "Sure! You might be small and uncoordinated and sustain serious injury or lose an eye, but if you think it looks fun - SURE!"

That's not any different than letting your kid participate in MMA is it? I mean there's a chance he'll never sustain serious injury. But there's a real good chance he will too. One wrong throw and he lands on his neck. One thumb to the eye and he could have permanent eye damage. One misguided hit and he could have serious throat damage.

Agreed - injuries can happen in other contact sports. But the amount of physical abuse that is purposely encouraged and taught in MMA should be left for those mature enough to understand the danger of what they are doing and the possible long term effects.

Seriously, those kids are only doing that because the parents want them to. Those kids do not realize what they are doing, the consequences it has, or if it's rigth or wrong.
karate is different, mma is just plain kicking ass, which isn't a good thing to teach a child.

Almost all MMA pros have a background in martial arts or wrestling, they realize mma is a sport, even though it requires knocking someone out (so does boxing and it's not looked down on), so yes, it is different than teaching a child.
Now maybe 15+years old or so, that might be alright.

I'd still woop any of those kids in the first round, come on , look how weak they are, their form is all wrong, lots of mistakes.
