    Z06 Camshaft???

    puttin in a z06 ls6 cam in a 99 4.8L do the valve springs have to replaced. if they do. are they a factory replacement? or do have to pull the heads to have them machined?

    yes, they're cheap enough, about $60 for a full set from sdparts.com . No need to pull the heads, you can swap the springs in the vehicle with the correct tools.

    I have a question about this cam also. what push rods do i need for a 2002 zo6 cam?
    Step 1. crus at it.
    Step 2. get a hammer.
    Step 3. torch it.

    7.4 pushrods for the ls1... and if you get a ls6 cam they should be a little longer.

    I believe they are 7.425
    2004 RCSB lowered 2/4 with boss 330 22" black wheels. 4.8 w/ Pacesetter LTs, ORY, 3" cutout, K&N 77 intake, 224/224 on 112 Lunati cam, 160 t-stat, W4M tune.

    most people just run the stock 7.400 length pushrods.

    No machining required for the LS6 yellow springs. I just pressurized the cylinders on my 5.3 and changed them like that. I wouldn't trust any stock LS1 pushrods with this cam because I heard they have a tendency to bend at higher RPM/spring rates. Some chrome moly stock length rods will do fine. Make sure to get your ECU reflashed for the cam and for the tranny to shift at higher a RPM

    Now sence the cam has a .050 smaller base circle would it be more benificial to use 7.450 lenght push rods?

    I was looking on sdpart.com and they said about .050 smaller base circle. I not saying there right that was why i asked. Just trying to get as much info as possible so i can pick the right cam and what I need to use with each cam.
