with stock rings, there will not be much in the way of blow by; the gap is small compared to what the rings are gapped at for a FI built motor. The catch can is just a way to vent the crank case and also keep from boosting it. If it were a motor built for boost, you could weld bungs to the covers and vent to the catch can.
Look at the front of the valve cover in the pic. There is also one coming from the other side too.
