    stole gas!?

ok so this morning my mom went to start her suburban its a 2003 z71, and it wouldn't start. turns out her tank was dry. i thought on the newer vehicles you could not syphon from the tank? and her tank didn't have any holes in it from were they could poke a hole. i guess keep your eyes out, i want to get locking gas caps but GM said you can't, they don't hold pressure and cause the SES light to come on.

Wow--so the tank was bone dry, or did the fuel pump 100% crap out? If you can't siphon, what is preventing people from using a type of sump pump to extract fuel from a tank?

fuel pump is good, we put in some gas and it fired right up after priming the fuel lines and hasn't given her any problems. i though GM did something were you can't suck gas from the tank anymore. but i guess they have a tool for that

nope you can suck gas from a tank. when I was doing my lowering kit I left my truck at my buddies house, and my friend thought it would be cute to tank a few gallons of gas out of my tank. needless to say I figured I would return the favor by "borrowing" some air out of his tires

they do make locking gas caps ..you just have to look around and see which ones seal the best...the ones that dont seal very well will just throw a code...thats it...it wont change anything and you still have a locked gas cap...i have seen thou where they just cut the hose going to the tank from in the fender well to by pass the locked cap...

I have a chrome fuel door that locks, and there are actually only something like 4 bolts that attach to your truck. Its not tightly sealed to throw a code or anything, and i got mine mostly so people cannot take my gas or f with my gas tank. Just the locking gas caps wont throw a code either i know people with them and there fine.
