    I have a 5.3 T56 combo in a 92 fullsize.
I did not use the shifter relocator that you mentioned, but it looks fine.
I bought a kit from Keisler Auto that moves the shifter to the front hole, but requires some transmission dissasembly and reassembly.
The only issue you might have with the kit you linked is it may hit the transmission tunnel. Mine is very close with the stock crossmember.

I ended up removing much of the original wiring from my truck, but not until it was running, and all the bugs were worked out.

    It is a fun swap.

    Good luck

    thanks for the info pnhigg

I got the 305 out and just waiting on parts!

    a few more ?'s

I bought the professional products 85mm throttle body
-Do I use the egg shaped throttle linkage or the more rounded one like the one on the 305?

-What do you guys do about the "stop pin" on the tach, it looks like the needle wont be able to rev past 6,000rpm?

    thanks, Kris

Here is a cad drawing I did with some measurements I took last night.

With the LS6 measurement I used the motor plates I bought off ebay that sits the block back 1 inch.

So I think I will buy the cheaper ones that will give me another inch foward.

I'm trying to do this so I dont have to cut up my floor.

After reading that about the clearance I will probably get the shifter that you have to take the t56 apart.

i was going to do the relocator kit but decided i wanted to run the shifter up through my console and i will be cutting another hole in my floor and using a hurst shifter i just got so i will have short throws with a small stick instead of the big goofy 3 foot long shifter that comes stock... but its all in what you want yours to look like ya know? plus it saved me 300$ for not having to buy the relocator.
