im with virgil, moze, you'll regret sellin that truck man im sure you know this, i kick my self in the ass for not buying a 550HP monster i came across in Washington and the reason was i was moving back to Oklahoma and needed something to drive across country DUMB IDEA!!! i shoulda just rented a uhaul and towed that biatch i seen the truck the other day on the net and it has a new paint job and its a bad biatch kinda like the one that got away. Have you thought about looking into a timeshare for that area so you dont have to move just take a vaca for a week or two a year or just a week every 6 months its a thought. I know me and the wife are planning another trip to the bahamas this summer its not the same as your deal but sometimes you gotta get away from it all man.

Housing should be cheaper there but the general pay scale is probably lower there because of it. If the pay is the same while housing is cheaper, there you go, more money for a daily beater.

Housing is more expensive for the most part. You're paying for location and scenery. The job market sucks pretty much everywhere. So employment difficulties coupled with higher housing makes for a difficult move.

moze, this thread is really sad to think we'd be losing you. if moving makes you happy, by all means move. but you know that your truck also makes you happy and and i know that if you sell it, you're gonna kick yourself in the ass. i live in NE and we also get a ****load of snow, but i will never sell my silvy. im gonna keep it and pay it off, then buy a 99-02 4x4 which i should be able to pickup pretty cheap. i think you could probably do the same. no matter what you guys do, i wish the best for you and your wife and hope everthing turns out great.

Thanks man...it basically comes down to downsizing our vehicle situation would improve cash flow and give us the ability to move sooner. Keeping both would postpone moving for a while.

Like if we both simplified the vehicle situation, we could move within a year. If we don't simplify, it could be five years - who knows. Just gotta decide which I want more. Or come up with a brilliant plan to move and keep both vehicles.

is there some way that you can roll your vehicle payments into a new mortgage? wouldnt cost much more per month on a mortgage

Very bad idea. Who wants to be paying on a vehicle for 15-30 years?!?!

wouldnt that pay off the vehicle and just add the the payoff amount to the mortgage? 20,000 grand doesnt seem that much to add to the mortgage. he probably owes less than that too.

he'll have the title in hand that way, but will still be paying the the truck for the life of that mortgage.
    Example
    you take a $15000 loan
    @ 6% for 30 years
You will pay $17375.73 in interest plus the $15000 purchase price, for a grand total of $32375.73

    Take that same $15000 @ 6% for 5 years
you will pay $2399.52 in interest plus the $15000 for a total of $17399.52

Which would you rather pay for the vehicle?
