These things are Rated up to 500hp or so stock everyone says.. Its either the rear cooler line or the small tube that feeds from the valve body itself.. again i am going over the shift kit and looking for something that might have caused this.. I will keep you posted...

The rear cooler line fitting, did it have the pilot on it? The late model 80e transmissions have two different fittings, a standard short fitting on the front and a long fitting on the back the goes deep into the center support to feed oil to the rear of the trans. You may know that but just thought I'd throw that bit of info up there for 80e novices that may be following along on your buildup.

Yes its an 05 model.. its Long in the back and Short up front it had an AN fitting in the case with a Tube welded to the backside of it... Not sure of exactly what that would have hurt.. Again i am going to look at everything again and again till i find something...

The stock fittings were replaced with -6 fittings, the rear -6 fitting had a piece of aluminum tubing welded to it matching the feed length of a stock fitting.

from what I've read the rear fitting has a swedge type fitting that compresses to fit into a bore and you're supposed to replace it any time that you remove it. Just what I've read. I bought a new one when I installed the 80e in my truck since the previous owner pulled the fittings out of the transmission when he removed it from his farm truck.

Vince at FLT told me to do it that way so I would think it is ok to do.

Casey will get it straightened out. He's got good resources to handle the issue. I'm sure Greg will tell him what failed and caused the clutches to roast. The 80e is a good transmission to handle the power.
