    STS Oil Pump,No Seals?

    Well I tore down the locked up pump today. It is re-buildable, but this one was almost to far gone to re-build. The pump has no seals on the top or bottom. This pump looks like it was submersed in water. It was so rusted I had to soak the housing for a while. The bearing on the bottom was locked, this is why the pump went out. I wonder why STS went with this pump? There is another pump I am looking at that flows the same, but is sealed.

    I think this is what I may go with later. Anyway, I hope this one will last longer. I may make a splash guard for it. Has anyone done this?

    I think that is about what the STS pil pump cost.

    The one I ordered was 260.00 to my door. I think its the same pump sts uses. STS uses 2 different pumps, a 2.6 and a 3 GPM per minute. I went with 3 GPM. The new pump I have is super quiet. I will give this on a go for a while.

    buy some of that spray sealer they use for batteries and stuff and spray the crap out of it to seal it up.

    We have used the Porsche pump, and it did great. Very quiet too.
