    Fresh motor break in

    OK, OK...
    This is a question that gets more different answers than I can count. My fresh forged motor, how long should I break it in? I have 400 miles on her, 20 + heat cycles, almost all below 4,000 RPMs (it might have slipped once to 4,500 ).

    I was trying to hold out for at least 500 miles, but some say 1,000. What should I do?

    PS - I do intend for this motor to last AT LEAST as long as the stocker did!!
