Hey guys, not sure what's going on with the ol race truck, but maybe some of you can shine some light on the issue.

Problem: I have no PRDL, no gears engage.

Last year, the trans was fine, I didn't run it much, but it did engage and move.
Here's what I did. I redid my entire setup and moved the engine back about 3-4inches. That doesn't affect the trans / engine mating together.

When I put my engine and trans in, I do what I normally do, seat the converter and simply install the trans. I'm using a PG trans and NeilChance converter. I'm using a TCI flexplate.
I went ahead and mated the flexplate and converter with no spacers, which moves the converter about 3/16" forward.
I got all my stuff done and started the engine. I had no gears, nothing would engage.
I then remembered that I had washers between the flexplate and converter. I added the washers, which are only 1/16" thick.
I then started the engine and I had all gears, even did a burn out and test drives.
SO, the truck sits for a couple weeks and I start it up, I have no gears now.
I thought it was strange that only a 1/16" washer would allow the converter to turn the pump.

With the engine/trans together, I can move the converter forward about 3/16, which is still acceptable, but I place a washer between the converter and flywheel. The washer is 1/16 thick, which allows the converter to move forward only 1/8". More than acceptable.
Most transmission places are saying only allow the converter to move forward less than 3/16, so I figure 1/8 is better.

I just pulled the trans tonight to check it out, and see if the snout of the converter was mucked up, it's clean, and I can see inside the trans that the two pump ears are good, not damaged at all.

So I put it together again tonight and still no gears.

I'm assuming the 1/8" I pull the converter forward is pulling the snout out of the trans pump.

What does this mean?

thanks,
allen
