Thread: average price for 6.0l?

    average price for 6.0l?

I have found a 6.0l motor that was a warranty job from a local dealership. I was working for the dealership when it was replaced. the vehicle had piston clatter at WOT running regular unleaded. the guy insisted on a new motor so that is what he got. the motor we took out had around 10-15k on it, and it set back in parts for about 6 months and GM never called it back. so a co-worker bought it at core price. this all happened about 4 years ago I believe. I asked the guy the other day if he would be interested in selling the 6.0l and he gave me a price of $600.00. Its a complete motor, but is still tore apart. I believe he said the heads were LQ4's? and he had a truck intake to go with it, and coil packs, and said he has also acquired most of the gaskets to build it back with.

do you guys think it would be worth getting for 600? dont sound bad to me but im not sure what these things go for, and I know how much he actually paid for it.

    give me some feedback!

Jump on it! If you want to put it in the 07 you'll need to buy a 52x reluctor wheel and have it installed by someone that knows what they're doing. If its a 99-2001 model with the thick crankshaft flange you'll have to get another crank or have a machine shop cut it down.

block, crank, pistons, rods, oil pump, truck intake, lq4 heads with rocker arms valves valve springs and push rods, coil packs, and im sure what else. it was a complete short block when it was pulled out, then he acquired the heads, intake, and coil packs and other things.

the heads on the lq9 and lq4 are the same (317's) the diff in the motors were rods and high compression...if that motor is that complete you need to jump on it....if anything you can flip it for about $500 in your pocket
