    Fuel pump volume

Well, I had been putting off installing my fuel, vacuum and nitrous pressure gauges. I was bored today after playing plumber so I installed the gauge pod and gauges. The fuel and nitrous gauges are MrGasket electronic models made by Autometer. The vacuum gauge is analog. Okay, so here is the story... I took the truck out for a drive and at idle it shows that I have 54 PSI and when I go WOT the fuel pressure drops to about 51 PSI and then climbs back up to 54 PSI. I have an Fbody fuel rail that is not vacuum referenced and my fuel pressure is regulated by a Corvette internally regulated fuel filter that returns excess fuel to the tank. I turned on the Nitrous fuel solenoid and did a WOT run with the Nitrous Oxide supply valve valve turned off and the fuel pressure dropped to 34 PSI! I guess what they say about a Walbro pump not being able to support 550 HP true, that or I have one of the chinese fake knock-off pumps that I've heard about rather than a real Walbro pump. I have a Racetronix hotwire kit on my fuel pump so I doubt that I have a voltage/power supply problem.
