Looking into building a 99up 2wd. Whats required in the swap if it has a v6 and im goin to an 8?
need a v8 engine harness, v8 mount for the driver side, v8 fuel lines, new engine, PCM tuned with Passlock disabled... its a little envolved but not too bad. Much easier to start with a v8.

But if you want to start with an RCSB V6 trucks are easier to find and cheaper, if you score some good deals it'd be cheaper to start with a V6 truck. Especially since you really don't really care about the powertrain you could find a high mileage truck and start with it. That's my main dilemna, mine just turned 30 000 miles, pretty hard to find a 6.0 with less then that without going brand new crate.

instead of completely replacing all the fuel lines, you can use compression fittings & braided hose to adapt the 4.3 lines to the V8 fuel rail. see above link for more specifics
