    Wheel Height.

I have some questions that maybe a few of you can answer. I have a 2003 Silverado ext. cab stepside. I will be lowering it using a Belltech 3/4 drop kit. I was wondering if anyone know's the total height of 20" wheels with 285/50-20 tires? I just want to get a total measurement so I can see how far off my speedometer would be. Also does anyone think that I will run into some clearance issues(such as rubbing when turning or anything of that sort). Thanks and any feedback helps.

What size are your stock tires? Tell me that, and I can tell you if your speedo will be affected. Are you dropping a 4x4, or a 2 wheel drive?

I know my 275/45/20 rubbed on mine up front, but I have the jdm 4-6 and my wheels are +18 offset. 1 more inch up front and I probably wouldn't have had any issues.

What offset or backspacing are you rims? That will be the biggest factor. Honestly, without knowing I'll say you'll run into issues rubbing in the front with a true 3" drop. That's speaking from experience and seeing many others having problems with it.

It's going to come down to the dimensions of your wheel/tire setup. If you're running a 20x8" rim with a 30mm offset then you may be fine, but if you run a 20x8.5 with a 12mm offset you'll probably run into rubbing issues.

if that is true those tires will be way too big for a 3" drop up front. the factory tires on Z71's are that tall. The tires I currently have on mine are 28.6 tall and only have a couple of inches of travel before hitting the inner fenderwell.

Im going by the tire calculator on Discounts website. Your 275/45/20 comes out to be 29.74" so I guess we can say give or take an inch and be in the ballpark. It does sound like a big tire for that amount of a drop though.

Well, I bought it with 275 all around. The 275s rubbed terribly so I put 245/45r20 up front after I bought it and they don't rub at all. The Discount Tire calculator is what I was using too.

The stock tires are General 255/70-16's. I would be running a 50 series due to towing. And the total tire height on them right now is 29". I would be running either a 285/50-20 or 275/50-20. Would that ten mil. really make that much or a difference?
