Timing chain break? Cause or effect. Could it have dropped a valve and broke the chain?

Oh, 240K miles on the chain? Yeah that would be a factor.

I'm glad that I am deciding to wait on putting a cam in mine. I can see exactly what all I need to replace when I get ready to do it. I was looking at the thumpr last night and thought nah, no need to buy the whole kit, I will just get springs and push rods when i do it. I guess I will be springing the cash for the whole 9 yards when I'm ready.

Never really heard of a timing chain breaking though...I would guess it was the mileage.
