Ahh gotcha...I called myself looking but couldn't see it. And yea, I'll probably pick up one of those intakes too. The one I have just bugs me a little bit and yours looks like it fits great. Thanks again for the info and help!
Nice ride! Nice to see some other guys still using the manual transmissions!
hey man just wondering what factory wires you kept..... i have the oil pressure sender from pass side, the coolant temp from driver side then i have cruise and the starter wires, is this correct
Excellent job on your build!! I am in the middle of mine right now and have a question about the A/C....I am using the Powers A/C bracket in my '93 with stock compressor... if I bolt the stock hoses back up I get a big kink in the big suction hose.....the angle of the hard lines out of the compressor are not angled right for the Powers bracket set up......how did you fix the problem with your set up??? Did you get a big kink in your lines ?????
Not sure how his A/C system works with a big kink in the hose..........I want my system to work as designed so I may try cutting the suction hard line and having it rewelded so it is rotated up and toward the passenger side to get the kink out of it..........if that works it will only cost me the price of the weld ......unless I can find a compression fitting big enough to fit the hard line..............if not about $100 in fittings from coldhose.com.............
yeah, very nice ride. My truck was a much easier swap and i kept my manual also!
this is my favorite swap on this site!
I just cut the suction hard line that comes out the back side of the compressor flush with the mounting block, drilled the block out to 5/8" stuck the hard line back in, repositioned everything for clearance and now all I have to do is get the line welded to the compressor mounting block.........easiest and cheapest and you keep your stock lines...........
truck came out looking good. Need a set of cal-tracs to hook it up?
I'm waiting for the turbo build, can't ever have to much power
Thanks. I swapped the rear shocks out for air shocks and it has helped a lot!
Also havent posted pics of the radiator cover finished.

nice slick truck by the way, quick question, did you use your stock driveshaft or did you have one made for the 93, thanks
I used my stock driveshaft 1992 5 speed with a 5.3.
Hey i just did a 5.3 5 speed swap in my 90 gmc 4x4, i was wondering if you did anything with your speedo because i got everything to work on the cluster except for that? Thanks
What did you change that the speedo doesn't work?I used a tremec 3450 5 speed from Rockland gear and my old speedo connector wouldn't plug in so i cut it off and found the right connector for the tranny and wired in the new connector.Works great.
I'll love you forever if you go over here and answer my question about the wiring connections you made into the truck harness.
still one of my favorite trucks! I followed progress at FSC
New here, I was wondering if I could get a parts list, I'm looking at doing this swap for my 98 Silverado 4x4 with the 3500 and am not sure of things like what I need to do wiring wise and like what you used for a fuel system, my 5.3 motor is out of I think an 01, any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
And stellar job on your 93' it looks amazing
I want one too! +3
Okay i am using the PSI harness also. It had the one wire for the speedometer and one for the tach. I'm working on a 94 truck so my problem is I don't know what wire to tie the wires from the psi harness into behind my cluster. Help me please!! Lol
White wire that went to your distributor is for the tach and the speedometer I connected to the drac box behind glove box. You need to do a search for the wire colors to use for the speedo.
Awesome build man! I just read through all 15 pages lol Did you ever swap in the nv4500?
Also, one question regarding the old nv3500 to 5.3....you used a 4.8LS flywheel(isn't it the same as sachs 1050?) stock clutch for your 92, 92 flywheel bolts, a 1377-c release bearing, and a 6302-VSP43 pilot bearing? That's what I gathered from page 4 of this thread. I'm starting my swap this weekend and trying to make sure I have everything. I have a 92 k1500 with 350/nv3500 and am swapping in an LQ9
91blkstpsd what color is your truck, Light Quasar Blue?? Beautiful job!
