ok im thinking about buying an 86 chevy long wheel base. it has a 305 and a 3 speed with granny. what would i need to do or what do i need to swap in a ls1 or 6.0 motor into the truck? harness? drive shaft? motor mounts? radiator? all the good stuff. i have so im told a 98 ls1 wiring harness with computer fuse box and everything. will that work on a truck motor or will it work at all?

You will need to modify your 99 harness or buy one ready made. I know the injector plugs are different on the truck setup from the LS1 car. Being that the 86 has a standard you might want to get a 5 or 6 speed standard. As far as driveshafts go you will more than likely have to get one custom made, although I'm using my stock one from the 305/th350(automatic) setup. For mounts you will need the plate adapters(e-bay) to mate a set of stock v8 mounts on your 86 to the LS1 or 6.0L block. I'm using the stock radiator from my truck with f-body electric fans. I used the complete 2002 LS1 setup so 6.0 might have some exhaust manafold differences. I grafted a fuse/relay box from a 1997 f-body onto my 2002 f-body harness.
