Thread: Lighting lose

1. #1
Hey guys, this isn't a kill but the kill is against me. Its was a red lighting without clear lights(99-??) I get on the expressway and see him coming. I wait for him and he passes me, and stays in front. When i catch up, i get next to him and rev it a little not thinking he would bite but did. I reved then let go of the gas and thats when he gunned it, by the time i gased it he was about a fender in front, and buy the time we let off at about 115 he was like about 1-1 1/2 trucks in front of me. This was at around 55-60, not my sweet spot. 2nd time, the same speed again and he got me by 1 truck. I wanted to go from 70 but he made a quick exit. I think i could have kept up with him if we would have raced from 70. Not sure about the lightings mods..

Yeah your gears certainly would have helped you from a dig vice higher mph roll. Anyway good race.

well it could of been worse. but dont worry at least you know your manufacturer (chevy) isnt a complete moron and knows how to make more than one sporty engine i.e. ls1, ls2, ls7 6.0 h.o. and not the same old piece of supercharged 5.4L junk.

Agreed - N/A v S/C - you did good!! No shame in it - nice death. Also agreed, gears your running aren't necessarily the best for a highway or topend roll. 3.73 or possibly 3.90s - the best for topend in our trucks seem to be 3.42s.....before I changed over to a LS1 engine I was giving the newer Maxima's runs for their money topend with my 3.42s.

Cool, the other day my friend told me he beat a lighting too in his truck. We both run the side by side but he beats me top end. I think i lost because the lighting was modded.
