At the big GTG Allen came up from SA to hang out and do some tunes/tweaking. Well I took my stock truck there for some laughs and a tune...man was I shocked after then tune!

I totally rid myself of that TqMgt. I run 93 octane too (by choice of me for max power), got shift points corrected, turned off Rear O2 sensors, turned off EGR, no speedlimiter, converter lockup delayed, and bumped my total timing a lot.

It was amazing how little timing this truck had at all levels. Up top it was pulling 40* of timing!!! :eek2: The thing was negative from what I remember up top.

No more dragging ass on the freeway now, accelerating from a dead stop is far easier, just general cruising is how this vehicle should have come from GM.

DO NOT hesistate to get even a stock truck tuned, the drivability is night and day.

And the kicker is...on the way back home to the Dallas area I averaged just under 20mpg...up from 17! :chug:

I don't know who Allen is, but if he knows his stuff, I want him to tune my lightly modded 4.8 once I put on my heads, cam, springs, etc.

I live in Middle Tennessee, however, and I have no idea where to get it done..

Allen's tuning is awesome. I had him remove TM. In about a week, i'll be sending my pcm back to him so he can really get down and dirty, only thing that bothers me is our shitty ass gas here in Cali. causing some kind of problem. Congrats on the tune!

Allen is the man behind this site. His tuning is quick and kicksass.

Ya, it was blast, too bad there's only so many hours in the day,
I'm like a zombie now, i'm not used to staying up so late, lol.

Thanks guys on the comments, i appreciate it. Glad you like your truck Hit Man, getting a custom on a stock truck is like night and day, it's worth it.

Even though cali has shit gas, we can still get it running pretty good, the stock trucks are so detuned, they would probably run on 75octane, lol, so there's still some more in there even for you 87 octane guys.
Also, the engine isn't the only thing that gets tuned, to me 40% of it is a good tranny tune.

    thanks again,

    allen

Yeah I got to sleep at 2am yesterday (I forgot I had a speech due for class at 9am )

A cheapo gas station by my house sells some 85 octane gas, I thought about being a cheapass once and running it but decided not to.

Heck, just get max on the 91 Cali gas...sure it's not much better than the 89 octane here but man, the difference is huge.
