Thread: What does this thing do for me?

    what does it do, is it worth the money, are there other types available??? i think its called an oil cap breather?

    Its commonly used to vent crankcase pressure. You can block off your PCV system and install one of those on the oil cap and one back where the pcv plugs into the d-side valve cover. Im not a big fan of them though as they can become coated in oil from the mist in the valve covers and drip oil down a valve cover. In N/A apps its not that big of a problem but in boosted application where crankcase pressure is higher it happens all the time.

    yeah i had one on my s10 for shits and giggles. but not having it saves you 6 dollars and a trip from vatozone..
