anybody wanna place some bets on how long the '93 trucks 10 bolt rear is gonna last with around 800 rwhp and the biggest-widest tire we will be able to stuff under there with a truetrac and caltracs included
i have been looking for a cheap 12 bolt to no avail so we are gonna stay with it till it breaks

I say around 4200 rpm on the first dyno pull or "break-in" drive, just a guess though, it might hold until 4250

I think you'll be very surprised how long it lasts. The only that that will save the rearend is having no traction.
My '94 has the original rearend in it, just a better posi unit and gears.

So how long until it's done?

i hope it does last.....i know the f body 10 bolts have smaller gears and thats why they break em....we are gonna put a supporting cover on it as well....the caltracs should help also...we are keeping the 3:08's in there to help the turbos come alive!!!
everything that will be upgraded accept the axles are.....2005 block,2005 80e tranny, 1350 u joints, new drive shaft and truetrac...
dont know how much longer allen....we still have alot to do and put a cage in it as well....prolly the end of the year....dustin has been gone and will not be back till the 25th so billys been working his ass off since he's been gone on projects that had to be completed....things will speed up when dustin gets back from kuwait....no need to hurry up at this point in the game...want things done right so when its done it's done!!!!

I never had a problem with the 10 bolt and 450 horse big block in my old truck. It was an 85' and it had 3.42 gears and locked up limited slip. I mean i wasnt pushing 800 horses either but with slicks on it the never broke loose and it held up just fine. The guy a parsons differential in beaumont told me that a stock truck 10 bolt can handle 600hp so long as the vehicle its in isnt 6000 pounds either.

It makes sense too when you think of it cause you could put that axle in a light, say 3500 pound car, with 600hp and slicks and never tear up the diff. but put that same combo in a heavy ass 6000 pound truck and you just pulled the pin on a grenade.

I would let it ride untill it breaks just to see the carnage and then send pics!
