Sorry to hear about that again. You need to have it fixed fasted and get some break in time close to home before driving to far from home. Good luck on the repair and shootout.

well i talk to the guy at cottmans this morning when i brought the truck in. he was a little preturbed about it. kinda pissed me off alittle. he thinks im droppin the truck from nuetral into 1st gear while reving the motor. NOT IN MY TRUCK !!!! why the hell would anyone think that somebody would do that to their own personall vehicle . any ways he said i would have it back in a couple of days so that i can still make it to the thunder shootout. we'll see

I know exactly what what you're going thru, I pulled mine out 4 times a while back because they kept breaking. My third gear kept going out after each cheap rebuild. That sux!!!!
Finally, I met Joe and everything was magically resolved. Acutally, there's no magic about it, he's the best tranny builder in my opinion!!

If you have a chance call joe and see what he can do for you. He's at 210-674-9333. Maybe you can get your money back and send it to joe. If your tranny broke that fast, I really hope you don't have anymore problems with it. It sounds like the tranny builder isn't standing behind his work.
I'm sure your truck is fast and strong, but I don't think it's stronger enough to break a well built tranny, even the 60E.

good luck man, i know it can be a nightmare,

hey guys, I hate to say it but don't waste your time, step up and put a Level 10 Tranny in your trucks. I will say without a doubt they are hard to destroy. My friend has a 10 sec GN running a 200R4 which is a lot weaker than a 4l60, Anyway give them a shot, you will like the results.

the last time i checked the only transmission that will mate to the LS1 based engines is the 4L60E, or the 4L80E
dont qoute me but thats what i remember.
so i limited to what i can do.

A 2004R is a badass tranny when built right...just like the Ford AOD. Pretty much all the internals are made of billet or forged pieces. To hold that power it takes MAD cash. Easily $3000

You can hook the 200 up to the Gen III motor but you'll have to figure out how to get the TV cable setup.

I am almost 100% positive that your shit it shifting WAY too hard. Too much line pressure too. Drop all those washers out of that 1-2 accumulator and run it that way.

The beauty of a Chevy engine is that damn near any trans will bolt up directly... and the few that don't, probably have an adapter available. Heck if you want bomb proof you can bolt a new Allison 5 speed up to it. If you blown that up then you might as well store that rig.
