Yeah, I was beat, but I'm fine with it.

Coming down I30 on the way home, a 2wd reg-cab Silvy pulls up alongside and gives it a little goose. Nice, clean looking truck, so I figured he probably had it juiced up under the hood pretty good. Traffic was heavy so we did a couple of fly-by trade-offs. I pulled up next to him and asked if he had a turbo or anything. He said no, just basic bolt-ons. I asked him if he had a tune, and he said yeah, a Hyper-Tech. Works for me I thought.

So we're lined up next to each other, have a bunch of room in front of us by now and we gun it. My downshift was great throwing me in front but he was slowly catching me. By now we're caught up to traffic. Finally we get to where there's some open highway and line up and it's on. Only problem was, he's slowly (very slowly) pulling away.

He clearly beat me, so we both pull over and check each others trucks out. Again he's in a 2wd reg-cab Silvy. His mods are a K&N intake, a Hyper-Tech tune, and a throttle body spacer and that's essentially it. Needless to say with all of my mods and Allen's tune, I was mildly disappointed, but have to keep reminding myself he's in a 2wd, I'm in a 4wd. I have two people, he's by himself. He has a regular cab, mines extended. I'm sure if mine was 2wd, I would have dusted him, but hey props given where earned. He beat me but only because of the above reasons. My 4wd more than held its own against a much lighter truck. I gave him your name Allen, so you may be hearing from him (he had never heard of you).

Anyway, that really left me aching for a cam and stall! A saving grace was he said he races 'everything under the sun' and when he saw me figured it would be an easy win. He said he couldn't believe he was barely passing me. Damn skippy. Next time cowboy....next time...

Got two kills I'll post when I get some time, figured I'd post my defeat first.

There is a big difference form a 2wd and 4x4 and also you have more passengers and a std.cab VS a ext.cab, you did good anyway man.

It's all in fun.
Once you get the cam and stall, your truck will run very strong.
Thanks for sending him this way.
