Going to a 1/4 mile track Saturday. This is going to be the first time any advise. I will be being friends there. Bottle is full. Camera is ready. Unload unnessary things. How to get go reaction times? Any thing that will be helpful?
Thanks

badass
Finally we get some participants, lol,
Since it's your first time here you go.
-If you're running street tires, don't bother burning out and making lots of smoke, street tires get less traction the hotter they get. Just run thru the burnout are and do a small burnout to clean the tires off.
-Pull up to your staging lights, then press as hard as you can on the brake and stall that converter up.
Don't worry about good reaction times, reaction times have nothing to do with running time only and have no affect on your 1/4 mile time. When the three orange lights go by and then the green, take your time, and launch good. Don't worry about the 1.5 reaction time lol, you're trying to run a good 1/4 mile time, not a good reaction time. Once you get your launches down, then you can concentrate on the reaction times.
-I'm sure you have your n20 setup correctly, hammer it and go.
This is how i get a good reaction time (when i'm trying).
I like to get up to the staging first, I'll immediately pull up after the burnout and set the first light off, then creep up and trigger the second one.
I don't like to stage real deep in the light becuase:
When the three lights go by, 1st light, 2nd light, then on that 3rd yellow light, i hesitate slightly and actually take off on the third yellow light. By the time i break the beam, the green is up and I usually get a good low 500 light. 520's are normal, with some 510's and better frequently.
Good luck, at the track,
allen

Watched on TV and knew there was a trick. I need to know when I spin to help with the launch? Launch just below spinning. NO2 set 3000rmp 145 shot. haha. And I am bring programmer just incase I need more. Allen should I increase trans. presure.

Try not to spin at all, but you don't want to bog off the line, with your stall you should be able to launch about 2200 or so, right? That is before you start spinning the tires. You may have to launch and get into it easy, until you have enuff traction to go.
Don't go too far on the shift firmness, you've been running that same setup as is for a while now without any problems, right? Get a shift kit in there or maybe a servo to help out with the shifting, you can go a little more, i would say multiply it by another 90% or so, that will decrease it 10%.

Thanks the truck shifts fine just don't want to break anything in there and I thought you say increasing firmness would help to hold it together. 2200 does work and no spin on road any higher spins but not much about 10' petal to metal.

I had great time yesterday. We went to Montgomery Motorsports Park. Best run was 14.3 @ 96.70. Track was very slippery. I spun at the lauch worst than on the road. Barked 2nd and 3rd. I race rice on the first run. GT on the second and a older TA on the third. I ran 14.5 on the second two. Made three more runs and times went down. Raced the same GT twice and he won twice. It was close but he was quicker.

It felt great. No detenation, wheel hop. I was happy with it. Need to get some differant tires if I am going to do this a lot. Nobody was getting traction it looked like. Next I will up the shot.
