check list..

well its about that time to use the good ole christmas money to start ordering my 2/4 drop. so this is the check list. feel free to correct me if im wrong, or if i dont need a certain thing. or if i do need something. any input would help.

front
-mcgaughys 2" spindles
-front shocks(optional?)
would i need new bushings for the front too?

rear (which would be a better buy?)
-hotchkis shackle and hanger kit 4"
-hotchkis 4" drop leaf for the rear
-shocks for the rear, (probably doetsch)

is there anything else? im gonna probably be running 20's with nitto 404's. so yeah, any input would help. thanks

sounds good, are you going to do it yourself? if you have the tools I can come help you. That would save quite a few bones. I would go with the 4" drop leafs for the back(more $$ though)

no bushings for the front...what are you talking about? only need shocks for the rear, unless the front are due for replacement too.

thanks ill keep that in mind. oh and the bushings, i really dont know what i was talking about, i was just in a hurry i guess.

i guess i meant for my control arms and sway bars, since i will be under their anyway

i was trying to find 4 inch drop leafs for the rear, i think i found some. but they are like 315 for both, and i dont even know if they are 4".

i went on mcgaughys website to look at thier spindles. and they have the 2" spindles on their http://www.mcgaughys.com/truck_new.html so thats where im probably gonna order them

also what are the differences in handiling/traction between the 4" shackle and hanger kit and just the 4" drop leaf for the rear? i mean if there arent many drawbacks for the shackle hanger kit i think i would rather just spend less money and not worry about more work when i have to grind out the rivets from the factory hangers.

also, i heard somewhere that you have to use shims on the driveshaft so that if you do intend to burnout/race it, you need it so you dont have wheel hop.
