finally got allens opinion on what cam to get

The ls6 cam is a great cam. You can get a bit more lowend though from a comp cam with about a 212/218-.560-114.

This cam will be just right. It sits about in the middle as far as aggressiveness. It’ll be a good daily driver and nice for the track.

I went to a similar cam in my LQ4. Mine has a wider LSA for the Whipple, but the intake and exhaust lift is the same.

It's a really good strong cam. I fell like the LS6 cam pulled harder on top than the Comp Cam Does.

I'll record a clip and post it, there is no lope at all, but I love the tone of the idle.

No lope at all in the 5.3 I had it in. It did change the exhaust tone at idle.

If you were going for a sleeper the Z06 cam would be the right one.

I pulled a 4500lb trailer all the time with the Z06 cam. Fuel mileage didn't change noticably from stock either. On the other hand I did have the whipple charger.

my 210/218 114 lopes very well... It doesnt hit like my 228/230 cam in my car, but you definitly know the truck is cammin

LT headers, no cats, and a straight through muffler might help my sound though. The 212/218 with a open exhaust should sound good.

im happy with my 210/218 since i drive the truck daily.. if i did it over, i may have gotten the 212/218 since I needed tuning to idle with the 210 cam.... every truck responds differently though

You can pull that weight with no problem, fuel mileage was about the same, remember, you are putting another GM cam in, your not going to hear any lope or see much of a fuel mileage decrease.
