I have found a set of 6.0 LQ9 #317 heads, and was wondering if they would fit my 2002 silverado 5.3 and if so would there be a horsepower gain...

They will fit and they will flow better than the 5.3 heads. I say go for it. Mabye do a little porting before you install them.
No more trucks, but this is what I used to have. 2000 GMC Sierra, 6.0L-LQ4, Built 4L60, LS6 Cam, The Other Guys Headers, 3 inch exhaust and 7 chamber flowmaster, 43lb injectors, Nelson Tuning, Drop - 3/4 McGaughys Spindles, Bell Tech Shackles & Hangers. Best time 13.59 @ 106
If I recall the LQ9 heads are the same as the LS6 heads with larger combustion chambers. They flow to much for a natraly asperated 5.3 and will kill power acrost the rpm range, they will also lower your compression ratio enless you mill them down. They will work great with forced induction though.
