    Squeaky rear end

    Hey guys,

It's been a long time since I've been here and I'm usually just a lurker since I don't know a whole lot. In September I got into a little accident and bent the axle on my truck. I remember when I drove on it it made the worst, loudest squeaking noise ever. I have since got it replaced and it ran like new with no problems until about last week. All of a sudden when I come coasting down from 60-70 I can hear it until I apply the brakes and then it stops. Then when I accelerate again it starts back up until my tires and exhaust drone it out. I don't know if it's because its cold out, or the U-Joints or what but any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

can you tell if the noise is coming from the front or the rear of the truck?

Could be a u joint or the velocity joint on the front driveshaft.

It is without a doubt coming from the rear of the truck. It's about to drive me crazy because I can only turn my radio up so loud.

8 days since you posted this and you still haven't pulled the driveshaft and checked the joints? Its so loud that the radio won't drown it out..... hell just keeo driving it like that and it'll show itself pretty soon.

I'm a college kid, and I drive every day to school and work every night. I don't have a whole lot of time to pull the driveshaft or do anything major to that truck anymore. It's getting checked out on Friday
