so i replaced my intake manifold gasket last night along with my knock sensors because i had the old style orange gasket. after i get the intake loosened and ready to come off i remembered i had to remove the egr bracket because i had a plug in there instead of the intake manifold for some dumb reason. as i move the bracket i see the plug is super loose and thats where my leak was all along. but i still updated to the new gaskets and did my knock sensors and all that jazz. i felt so stupid when i realized it but the whole process only took 2 hours so it wasnt a big deal. have ya'll ever made stupid mistakes like that?

Happens all the time. Just learn from it. I've tried to fix parts on my own truck just to find the cause was something else. At least it wasn't a customer's vehicle and wasn't really that expensive.

thanks guys your making me feel better to know im not the only one out there and yeah ive learned my lesson! that was the first time i had "dug" into my engine and until now i truely didnt realize just how straight forward and easy these motors are to work on.

When I was in middle school I used to race the super mini class and had a Yamaha big wheel 80 punched out to 105cc. I was getting the bike ready for the weekend and it would not start. Tried all the tricks....nothing. So, I proceeded to take apart the carb, found nothing wrong, cleaned it, tried again.......nothing. I then dissasembled the reed valves to maybe find a broken one......nothing. I was running out of time so I just put it back together. As I was raising the fuel tank to attach it to the bike again I realized it was empty I filled it with fuel and something amazing happened....it started!!! Happens to everyone lol some mistakes are worse than others.
