    sural nerve removal!

A bunch of ppl here know I've had extensive surgeries on my back and left foot since i discharged from the marines. Last Friday i under went surgery to have the broken section of the sural nerve in my foot removed. Was said to be a simple surgery. Well she cuts in there and lots of damaged and discolored tissue was surrounded by the nerve. She removed a majority of the tissue nd snipped the nerve back where it had color again then she tucked it the muscle the runs along the top of my foot. That was done she said because the nerve would heal it would develop an onion bud looking growth and be super sensitive and cause more discomfort. So far i loving it, because now i can tell ill be able to actually tie my left shoe again. Word of advice tho always get a second if not third opinion after a traumatic foot injury. You never now how much you will miss having normal foot function.

Ya the cut was only suppose to be an inch, but with all the tissue damage she had to go in further.

Good Luck with your recovery. Hopefully this will do the trick and you can get back to normal.
