i just purchased a 03 silverado and i was looking at getting the gm fog light kit. i read you will have to get the computer programmed to recognize the fog lights or something like that. is this true?

Couldnt you just wire it in with the headlights?
Yes this would not be "factory" as you wouldnt have control of the fogs being on or off, but I think it would work....right?

yes, you could do it that way. since it came with the switch and factory plug'n'play i went that route so there sould be no cut/splicing

You can buy a pair of fog lights from eBay or RockAuto for next to nothing. Wire up a relay harness that ties into the headlights and you're done. The only thing you don't have is the button that controls them separately.

I added a set of oem fogs on my 03 sierra, didn't have to do any pcm mods. It came with the oem switch lights, harness and all.

Link to where you guys are buying this kit, Mangles02gmc and graysilverado5.3? I need to buy a set. Also, will this kit be "plug and play" with my '00? It's a 2000 model with an '03 bumper and grille.
