Went car shopping for the woman....

We didn't get anything yet, as we're waiting for some 2013 models to get on the lot, but we are pretty set on one of two cars. We like the 2102 Buick Regal GS (the turbo 4cyl manual) and the Nissan Altima. They are fairly similar in price when fully loaded.

Anyone have any news on these or suggestions at something else to look at? The Buick cxl turbo is nice, basically a regal in an automatic. We're looking to spend under 30k out the door, get 30+mpg, and 4 doors.

I haven't driven the Buick but we tested the Altima when we were shopping. We ended up with the Maxima though. The Altima had a really good feel to it. Sometimes I wish we would have gone with the Altima because the CVT in the Max is weird. And the 2013 altima's look pretty cool.

The Nissan's maxima is a great car to. Not sure the gas mpg though. Guy on this furom bought a new one for his wife is you wanna pm him about it, I know it is fully loaded and was like 30k new. The new buick regal looks nice in my opion, the turbo ones have nice brembo brakes and I believe the same motor thats in the turbo cobalt.

Yeah, I just read about the 2013 altimas getting the CVT. It's not horrible, just not what I'm familiar with so it's odd. MPG for the max aren't bad but they're not stable. Best we've seen was 33 and worst was 22 mpg. We got our 2011 last July and we paid just over $30k OTD.
Are y'all looking at the Altima coupe or Sedan?

I'm only going by sticker price at the moment. Obviously there will be haggling, rebates, and we have a nice discount on most vehicles because she is an ATT employee and union member.
