Opinion of Old school motor build in ealy 90 model Z71

Im comptiplating building a chevy 302 for my Z71 I've discuss it with a few people thay say stroker motor for the torque but the resurch I've done on this motor that was built in years between 68-70 for the Z28 it can turn high rpms (8-9Gs) before it comes apart so I have the rpms and the torque from the 5-speed and transfer case. so what is ya'lls opinion

it really depends on what you will be using the truck for. due to the nature of this forum im pretty sure everyones is going to advise you to go with an ls motor. because with some simple bolt ons you can pretty much do what ever you want with these motors.
