98 silverado engine swap?????

I have a 98 silverado 2wd 4.3l, i want to do a low cost engine swap but need to know what engine that I can replace engine with I know 96-98 are the years that the 4.3 only fits, but can I use a newer 4.3?

Need more info. U wanting to do a v8 swap. If so ls or lt style engine. Etc

depends on why you are doing the swap and everything. if you want some more power i would say do an ls swap and get a 5.3 or 6.0. if its just a beater then just try to find a used 4.3 and it would be a basic drop in swap. whats wrong with the engine in there now?

if you want the 4.3 still (why is beyond me) 96-06 is what you're after.
