    Working on a Cobalt..got some Q's

ok so the car its my cousins....05 cobalt 2.2ecotec.....she lost control and fell in a low water crossing....

brought it home....it turned on just fine but had a broken oil pan, radiator and e fan...

    i replace

    oil pan
    radiator
    filled radiator
    put new oil and filter

turned it on but it started kinda like a smeely steam coming from the reservoir as i was filling it up

it wasnt knocking or anything...the idle had a slight miss...so t

so i turned off and go to start it and its rough as hell...barely wants to crank over

i checked the dipstick and it did not mark anything like wtf

so i go under and i drained the oil and it came out with water

im thinking as i filled the radiator that water was going to the pan
i removed plugs and they were covered in water
my cousin mentioned it was steaming smoking etc etc

what yall think? head gasket? i think im just gonna replace the motor

If it overheated could have warped the head or block even. I tore a Saturn apart in high school that was overheating and this was the case. Could be something else.

I would definitely say it sounds like it is some manner of the heads not sealing to the block (head gasket/warped mounting surface)
    just my two cents
