    Project Infinity

I call this Project Infinity, mostly because it will take me ages to get where I want it to be, just because I'm still in school and only work a part-time job.

2004 GMC Sierra SLE Extended Cab 2WD
    5.3 4L60E

Here's when I first got her:

Bought her with 140k miles, magnaflow exhaust and K&N CAI. It ran a 15.3 in the 1/4.

Took all the useless crap off and debadged her next:

2" shackle and painted the reflectors in the headlights:

Headlights stained soon after, so I bought new ones:

Added a Hypertech programmer, and bought me a set of track wheels and tires..

With the hypertech it ran constant 15.1's... After a getting some recommendations got a tune from a buddy and it ran a best of 15.01's

    FUTURE PLANS:

    Engine/Trans:
    224/Z06 Cam
    3200 stall
    4.10 gears
    Trans cooler
    Efans
    LT's

    Exterior:
    Cowl Hood
    Colormatched
    2/4 Drop
    Roll pan

and hoping to bring the truck to a 13.9 or extremely low 14 second pass..

you need to get a nelson tune, i shaved 6 tenths off my 1/4 mile by just calling him up, tips for long tube install, jack the truck a mile off the ground and go from underneath.

Got a new set of rubbers on the truck! Going from 0.000001% tread to 100% tread, and wow this thing hooks and leaves damn fast!

    went from a 255 70r16 to a 265 70 r16

    Well, my headers are on!

It was pretty easy to get the old ones off, just a PITA.. I got my muffler off, and thought it would be easy the rest of the way.. got to the Y-pipe and 4 bolts out of 6 stripped.. so I went to the next thing and started on the manifold bolts.. I went to feel how loose they are and found out that the back bolts on both sides have already been snapped off.. so I was a little mad.. all the others came out like butter thanks to 2 1/2 days of PB Blaster. Went under the truck again to cut the y-pipe so I could pull them out. Installed the new headers and ORY. Everything slipped on nice, except the muffler, so I was running around with just a ORY for 1 1/2 days, it was a PITA, lol.. EVERYTHING was rattling inside the truck.. Muffler is now on with 3" piping all the way back and it sounds AMAZING, a little quieter than my old set up but like I said, it sounds amazing.. Also got the Service air bag light while putting the headers in because I pulled the steering column intermediate shaft and the steering wheel wasn't secured and spun a few times and snapped the clockspring..

Here's a little video of how it sounds right now... I'll get one of a few revs later..

The two broken back bolts.. dont have exhaust leak, so I should hopefully still be good, lol.

Some sparkplug carnage from pulling the headers out, lol..

In total, the header install took about 6 hours with all the problems we ran into..

Dropped the grill, roll pan, and some under hood stuff off at my buddys to get painted... this thing is gonna look sexy as f*ck!

What would you guys do with my grill? I can't decide if I want to keep the stock insert and put a silver emblem on it, or get another billet insert..
